A 71-year-old woman is thanking her lucky stars today for escaping serious injury when she was pinned beneath an out-of-control car just outside of Kings Highway supermarket, said police.

The accident occurred as a 92-year-old Cherry Hill man was backing out of his parking space in the Ellisburg Shopping Center at 5pm on Wednesday, police said.

The driver hit the accelerator when he should have hit the brakes. His vehicle struck a bench where the 71-year-old woman was sitting. The supermarket had minor damages from the vehicle. Thankfully the woman was only treated from minor bruises. The driver of the car was not identified.
