The prestigious Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and State Farm looked at 30,000 auto crashes involving children between the ages of 4 and 8. They found the 80% of these children were using adult seat belts and not booster seats. In fact, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) found the fewer than 7% of the 20 million children between the ages of 4 and 8 used booster seats. If your child balks at sitting in one of these seats because he or she is "grown up now", parents must do what's responsible so the number of child injuries and fatalities can be reduced.
