Faced with over 15,000 individual Vioxx lawsuits, New Jersey Superior Court Judge Carol Higbee has ordered that 4 Vioxx trials will begin this October at the same time. The trials will be conducted in Atlantic City, NJ. before four different judges. Merck, the manufacturer of Vioxx, withdrew it's blockbuster drug from the worldwide marketplace in September of 2004 when studies showed it caused heart attacks and strokes.

Trying multiiple cases at the same time is the only way to put a dent in the backlog of pending cases. Even if 10 cases a year were tried, it would take 1,500 years to complete all 15,000 cases. Some of us may not be around by then. Merck has vowed to try all 15,000 cases one at a time and strongly objected to Judge Higbee's plan. However, Merck's attorneys have not offered any solution of their own to how to expedite the trial process. There are another 17,000 cases pending in the United States District Court in New Orleans. Merck (NYSE: MRK) is a Dow 30 component and is headquarted in Whitehouse Station, NJ.

Dear Miss Hill,

I am one of those people waiting for trial after Merck killed my husband with their poison Vioxx! It cannot come too soon; I want those monsters to look me in my face & tell me they are not the reason that I'm a widow!

Real justice would put them behind bars for murder. Unfortunately the rich don't get judged like other people. Tying the CEO's of Merck into a chair for 32 days and night and forcing them to watch a man die a horrid death like my Jim would wake them up.. He couldn't ring for a nurse, had a stomach feeding tube, suffered one infarction after another (because he was full of Vioxx), developed a blood clot in his leg, then it traveled to his lung causing a pulmonary embolism, the last ten days suffered continuous seizures, ran fevers over 106 because the part of his brain that controlled his body temperature was destroyed;he never had a history of vascular problems! His brain was totally destroyed before God mercifully took him home.

Now they want to try one case at a time. Can you see why? They don't want cases like mine to be known about! They're so arrogant...I will wait for my trial; when it finally comes it will be in every newspaper in the country. Truth is the strongest weapon in the world.

By the way Miss Hill, you are one of the attorneys representing me & I thank God for you.

Sincerely,
Phyllis Jankowiak
