Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Hopefully you all will be sharing the day with family and friends, sharing with the less fortunate, and giving thanks for your blessings. Unfortunately, there will also be a upswing in food poisoning cases. Many folks bring home a turkey and just don't know what to do with it. Well, your tax dollars have funded some toll-free numbers and websites to help you answer questions. The Food Safety service of the USDA has a website and a toll-free number: 800.535.4555. The Butterball turkey folks also have a website and their number is 800.323.4848. For those eating seafood, there is an FDA seafood line at 800.332.4012. Finally, you may email questions to the government experts at mphotline.fsis@usda.gov. Enjoy the day.
